Quick surveys
Short questionnaires, sent out often, never longer than it takes to eat a taco. We publish what we hear back — the good and the uncomfortable.
A trade association, built out loud
UFTA is a community of food-truck owners, caterers, commissary operators, and the people who love them — figuring out, in the open, what this industry actually needs. Not a platform pitching down at the trade. An association built by asking, and by showing our work.

Started with a notebook and a few dozen conversations, one metro at a time. Built to work wherever people are cooking out of a window — that's the whole point.
Too often, who gets discovered is decided by who can afford the rent on a storefront — not by who can cook, host, or serve. UFTA inverts that: quality, reliability, and trust are the things that get rewarded, independent of any single app, platform, or location advantage. We didn't get to that idea alone — it came out of listening, and it only stays true if we keep listening.
Most of what shows up on UFTA started as someone telling us what was broken. We run short surveys, we keep a public board, and we show up in person — because a trade association that never leaves its own website isn't one.

In person
We're knocking on truck windows and calling commissaries, one metro at a time, asking one question: what's actually broken for you right now?
If you run a truck, a cart, a commissary, or you've been trying to fix this from the outside — we want to talk to you. This only works if enough of the industry is actually in the room. We're actively reaching out to operators, hosts, suppliers, and specialists everywhere we can find them; if you'd rather reach us first, that works too →
Trust on UFTA is earned, explainable, and revocable — driven by evidence, not relationship. The same ladder applies to providers, venues, events, and specialists.
Location Hosts steward a place on the ground — the locality a machine-run network structurally cannot manufacture: someone local who hears the issues and fixes them.
A private, evidence-backed way to report nonpayment, retaliation, unsafe conditions, or misconduct — and to recognize good stewards. Firm, fair, documented, proportionate, private by default.
Every card on it started as someone telling us what's broken. Heard, considering, building, or live — you can always see where your ask actually stands.
So a new market isn't a blank page, UFTA seeds it with real local vendors drawn from public business records, listed at the most basic tier (U0 — Listed): name, area, category. Nothing more is implied. A listing makes no compliance claim, carries no halo, and shows no schedule until a real operator claims their pin and earns the rungs above it.
Presence is the signal; absence stays absence. And the listing is yours to take down — every record carries a one-click claim and a frictionless opt-out.
Food trucks, caterers, walking tours, pop-ups, venue operators, commissaries. The members at the heart of the food economy.
Local stewards who take on-the-ground responsibility for a location: priority scheduling, on-site relationships, and the ground truth no remote system can sense. How hosting works →
The independent food economy doesn't run on food alone. Trucks need wraps, menus, and signage; kitchens need refrigeration and HVAC; everyone needs insurance, accounting, and legal counsel that understand mobile food. UFTA vets specialists on the same trust ladder as providers, so anyone can find safe, effective third parties without guesswork. We're actively looking for more of them — reach out if that's you.
That side of UFTA lives on its own page, on purpose — this site is for the community first. If you're a developer, an agent builder, or a platform that wants in, the technical detail is over there.
